Wood that isn’t afraid of rain: Why our sheds withstand any weather?
When choosing a garden shed, the main question isn’t design or price, but how it will survive winter, rain, and scorching sun. Many will promise “quality wood,” but what lies behind those words in our case?

We don’t buy ready-made, questionable planks. We control the entire cycle.
- Northern spruce. This is no random choice. Wood from northern regions grows slower in a colder climate, so its annual rings are much denser. This wood is inherently stronger, denser, and contains less moisture than wood from warmer zones.
- Kiln drying. Freshly cut wood is the enemy of stability. It warps, cracks, and rots. We use drying kilns that reduce the material’s moisture content to the ideal working percentage. As a result, our boards don’t warp, shrink, or crack after the first season.
- Protection from the elements. We don’t leave the wood defenceless. Every part is treated to resist rot, fungus, and wood-boring insects. This means our shed is ready to face any weather.
To be more specific – most cheap sheds on the market are made from fast-grown wood from warmer regions. Their annual rings are wide and sparse, so the wood soaks up moisture like a sponge. After the first winter, it starts to crack, boards twist into propellers, and water gets trapped in the gaps, literally tearing the structure apart during freeze-thaw cycles. Our northern spruce grows slowly and hardens under the pressure of snow and frost – the result is a compact, dense material that holds its shape even after years.
But even the best wood won’t last forever if not treated properly. While other manufacturers use cheap coatings that fade and peel after a few months, we choose professional-grade preservatives. Each part is dipped or sprayed so that the impregnation penetrates deep into the wood’s pores. The result is a surface that repels water but still lets the wood breathe. This prevents black mold from forming, and you won’t have to repaint every single year.
And what about mechanical strength? Our board thickness of 15 and 19 mm is no accident – it’s the result of extensive testing. Thinner boards easily bend under the weight of snow or get punctured by a falling branch. Our construction handles normal loads without any problems, and in case of an extreme winter, you can easily add cross-bracing. Customers often tell us that their shed survived storms that broke mature trees nearby. That’s real peace of mind.
